Lochend Croft is a family-run working croft on the island of Whalsay just off the east coast of Shetland. We're surrounded by croft land, wildlife and beautiful views across the loch.

We rear sheep for meat, produce haylage and eggs, and make a growing range of products inspired by life on the croft. These include natural wool, handmade keepsakes, calendars, cards and our Elsk candle collection.

We also attend selected local craft fairs and events throughout the year.

Yes! Many of our gifts and keepsakes are available for UK-wide postage. Delivery options and costs are shown at checkout.

Some products, including fresh or frozen produce, have different delivery or collection arrangements.

Absolutely! Local collection from Lochend Croft is available free of charge by prior arrangement. Simply select the collection option at checkout where available.

Lochend is our family home and a working croft, so we're not currently open for general public visits.

Collections can be arranged in advance, and we hope to offer occasional croft experiences and events in the future.

Yes. We offer croft-reared meat, including lamb and hogget boxes, along with selected individual products.

Elsk at Lochend is our planned luxury two-bedroom lochside retreat, set on our family croft.

Designed for peaceful escapes, it will offer beautiful loch views, a private wood-fired hot tub and the opportunity to experience the changing seasons of Shetland.

Elsk is currently in development, and we haven't announced an opening date yet.

Whalsay is an island off the east coast of Mainland Shetland, reached by ferry from Laxo.

Visitors travelling to Shetland can arrive by ferry from Aberdeen or fly into Sumburgh Airport. From Lerwick, it's approximately a 30-minute drive to the Laxo ferry terminal, followed by a crossing of around 30 minutes.
