Lochend Croft is our family home and working croft on the island of Whalsay, Shetland.

Crofting has been part of life here for generations, and we're proud to be raising our three daughters surrounded by the same land, animals and traditions.

Our days revolve around our flock of sheep, Shetland ponies, hens and various other animals. From the excitement and exhaustion of lambing to summer haylage, autumn gatherings and the daily work of caring for our livestock, there's always something needing done.

We're passionate about producing good food, making the most of what our croft provides and passing on the knowledge and traditions that make crofting such an important part of island life.

Alongside the everyday work, we're finding ways to share a little of Lochend with others, through our croft-reared produce, natural wool, handmade products and photography.

It's a busy, sometimes muddy, often unpredictable way of life — and we wouldn't have it any other way.
